H5O Bistro

Downtown Portland Restaurants

H50 bistro & bar truly is a whole new element in dining. And where "hanging out" in an inviting, comfortable environment is but a small part of what this dining experience is all about.

Located at Hotel Fifty, H50 is convenient. And its all day dining appeals to a broad range of diners. H50 isn't "just" a hotel restaurant. It has its own street entrance and has quickly developed a reputation as a popular upscale dining option among downtown-goers. And one of a few favorite restaurants in Oregon.

What's so special about H50 is the food. While not exactly trendy, it's fresh with a focus on flavors and textures.

H50's food is simple, classic, fun, whimsical, and made with the best and freshest products and ingredients – many of which are locally and/or organically grown. Textures from creamy to crunchy are among the culinary team's major focus as are avant-garde preparation techniques resulting in unique foams, gelees, and fruit caviars.

Menus, while intriguing, are simply written. And appeal equally to either a vegetarian or a carnivore! Item presentations are thoughtfully conceived and carefully crafted. And H50's bar menu showcases smaller portions of both lunch and dinner items.

Select H50 as the site for a romantic evening with someone special prior to attending one of Portland's downtown cultural options. You'll be less than a mile (or two) from several. Check 'em out.

Consider that H50 is near to equally as many sporting venues. A quick bite and a beverage with the guys (or girls) prior to a game could be just the ticket! Take a look.

Also close by are numerous Portland attractions. Become a local tourist and be your own guide (or perhaps someone else's)! Just look at all there is to see and do within a mile of the restaurant! Make H5O your place to gather and energize prior to an attraction visit. Or recharge afterward. Either way it's a well-deserved treat.

The Rose Quarter is one of the best downtown venues ever to breeze to. It's the popular site of all sorts of entertainment. In fact a broad spectrum of concerts are held at the Memorial Coliseum in the Rose Quarter. And Blazer, Lumberjax and Winterhawks games take place in the Rose Garden Arena. Dining or socializing at H5O bistro & bar before or after a Rose Quarter event makes a lot of sense. After all, diners at H5O can take advantage of FREE valet covered parking and get back and forth via MAX. The MAX light rail stop is very close to Hotel Fifty, plus guests can avoid the cost and hassle of parking at the Rose Garden. Of course, this park-free, dine at H5O, and ride concept is available to all discerning guests attending loads of Portland-area venues, events, and attractions.

H50 bistro & bar also offers diverse and creative beverage options – some of the finest available among all Portland restaurants.

Featured daily are bar drinks with fresh fruit ingredients, juices, garnishes. Besides fun and contemporary cocktail offerings, regional and international selections are also available.

As many as 250 – 300 wine varietals – many from the Willamette Valley - represent regions and countries from around the world. At any given time, as many as 100 are featured on the restaurant's wine list. Many varietals are also viewable in the 800-bottle H5O wine cellar, showcased in the dining room.

Service, of course, is a key ingredient in why H50 is Portland's a must-experience restaurant. Often.

H50 servers act as culinary liaisons to their dining guests, guiding them through the menu items, ingredients and preparations.

Executive Chef Nicholas A. Yanes serves up more than merely interesting and flavorful cuisine. He also serves up his straightforward H50 dining philosophy which is: take utmost care in the kitchen and transfer that caring into the dining room.

The result? A dining environment in which a well-trained culinary team unites with an equally well-trained service team to provide each guest with individualized Five-Star product and attention without the fuss. And at an affordable price.

Just in time for Portland's wonderfully warmer, drier summer weather, H5O bistro & bar is expanding its dining seating by eight tables of four -- two on the Morrison Street side and six on the Naito Parkway side. Lunch and dinner will be served. So, if you're an outdoor diner by choice, here's your brand new opportunity at H5O! It makes for great sight-seeing. Outdoor "hours" are 11 AM - 9 PM daily.

Hotel Fifty now has Valet parking. Still covered, of course. The cost for overnight self-parking for a hotel guest is $20. For Valet parking, it’s $25. Visitors to H5O bistro & bar may enjoy FREE Valet covered parking for up to four hours. Attendants are on duty from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, or longer based on goings-on at the hotel/bistro. Available parking in downtown Portland is a rare find. Covered parking is unheard of. And FREE Valet covered parking for diners is, well non-existent. In other words, this is a BIG deal.
