This has got to be one of the best happy hour places and people watching spots in Portland. Being in a hotel lends an atmosphere of intrigue and danger to a chic setting that is modern without being cold. It's also fun to watch the people go by at rush hour through the big picture window out over the Morrison Street Bridge. The wait staff is super friendly and my biggest challenge is trying to not pig out on the fancy fries- I'm an O-fer on that score but I've powered on through to the burger, salad and cheese plate. All were fantastic...

"wow! the only thing not to like about this place is the fact that it is attached to a hotel. While visiting some friends in portland, I stayed at hotel fifty. Being very cautious of hotel food, i started with breakfast. THE best french toast i have ever had. Although my group and i did not eat there the first night (what a mistake), we did end up eating dinner there the seccond. I didnt know anyone offerd free valet parking, that was a hugh suprise for my friends. It all went up hill from there. imaginitive and well prepared food, great service and i can say wnough about the feel of the room. If you live in the portland area this is a must!! "

"I want to praise the bartender Ron and the sou-chef Tiffany for excellent service and food and drink today. I have dined all over the world and had drinks in the finest places, but my experience today was outstanding. The creative mixture of tastes in drink and food pairings was superb. Kudos to your employees!"

H5O Bistro and Bar is located in Hotel Fifty, but it was way beyond the average "hotel restaurant."
